Veterans Park District in partnership with Triton College, Jane Addams School Nature Club and Ms. Matticks’s Jane Addams kindergarten class, planted and maintained vegetable gardens at the Bataan Park Community Garden. The children planted a variety of seeds with the instructors from Triton’s Culinary Department. The Nature Club met weekly throughout the summer to care for the plants. The students learned the importance of food sustainability. At the end of the summer students, parents and staff enjoyed the gardens yield from the season.
